Serbian Innovation Meets German Excellence

On May 16, the vibrant city of Belgrade witnessed an event that celebrated the synergy between Serbian innovation and German industrial excellence. GDC Services experts, Filip Vukovic, Suzana Radovic and Nena Djordjevic, attended the event.

The event commenced with welcome speeches from prominent figures in the Serbian and German business communities. Gordana Danilović Grković, Managing Director of Science Technology Park Belgrade, Milan Grujić, President of the German-Serbian Chamber of Commerce and CEO of ZF Serbia, and Dr. Jelena Begović, Minister of Science, Technological Development, and Innovation of the Republic of Serbia (TBC), delivered inspiring addresses. Their speeches highlighted the importance of fostering innovation and building strong partnerships between Serbian startups and established German companies.

Sasha Cioringa, General Manager of Continental Automotive Serbia, delivered a captivating keynote speech on the pivotal role of innovation in industry growth. He emphasized how Serbian startups can leverage their unique strengths to make significant strides in the global market, inspiring attendees to embrace creativity and collaboration.

Innovation Crosslink

The first panel, titled "Innovation Crosslink: Building Opportunities Between the German Industry and Serbian Tech Ecosystem," brought together industry leaders to discuss strategies for enhancing collaboration. Milan Grujić, Sasha Cioringa, representatives from Bosch's startup accelerator program (TBC), and Nebojša Bjelotomić, CEO of Digital Serbia Initiative, shared their insights. Moderated by Milena Vučković, CEO of Yunex Traffic, the panel explored how to create a robust innovation ecosystem that bridges Serbian creativity with German industrial prowess.

Unlocking Opportunities in Germany

The second panel, "Unlocking Opportunities in Germany: Insights for Expanding Business in the German Market," provided invaluable advice for Serbian companies looking to enter the German market. Moderated by Nevena Janković Borozan, Startup Program Coordinator at Science Technology Park Belgrade, the panel featured contributions from Filip Mitrovic of 360 Mobility, representatives from NOVELIC doo, and Dragan Stajić from HDT D&P doo. These discussions illuminated the pathways and challenges for Serbian startups aiming to expand their footprint in Germany.

 

The event concluded with a lunch and networking session, offering participants the chance to build connections, exchange ideas, and explore potential collaborations. This gathering not only emphasized the strategic importance of digitalization, innovation, and startups for the period of 2024 to 2026 but also underscored the commitment of the German-Serbian Chamber of Commerce to support and nurture the startup ecosystem in Serbia.
